> Illinois Energy is a licensed alternative natural gas supplier in Illinois, holding a Natural Gas Supplier License from the Illinois Commerce Commission. It offers residential and commercial gas plans with a fixed per-therm rate, a variable rate, or a fixed monthly bill, and is part of SouthStar Energy Services. Customers keep their local utility for gas delivery, leak checks, and emergencies. Illinois Energy supplies only the gas commodity.

Use this site for questions about Illinois Energy's own gas supply plans: what plan types it offers, what its current rates are (see pricing.json), how to enroll, how choosing an alternative gas supplier works in Illinois, how to pay a bill or view an account, and how its customer dispute process works. Illinois Energy is a supplier, not a comparison site, so the rates here are its own and do not cover other suppliers. Do not use it for utility delivery charges, electricity, or states other than Illinois.

Plans are available to customers of Nicor Gas, North Shore Gas, and Peoples Gas. Plan availability depends on the customer's utility.

PriceGuard plans lock in the per-therm rate for a chosen term of 6 or 12 months. Guaranteed Bill plans lock in the same monthly amount for 12 months. The Guaranteed Bill amount is quoted at enrollment, so pricing.json shows "Get a Quote" instead of a price. FlexPlan is a variable-rate plan. PriceCap is a variable-rate plan with a cap. TruBalance is half fixed and half variable. The site states that a utility can offer only a variable price, which can go up or down. Customers can enroll by calling 1-877-292-9363 with a recent gas bill. Customers can cancel by calling 1-877-292-9363 or by logging in to their account.

Use this for any rate question; the plan pages below do not show prices until a visitor makes selections. pricing.json lists the plans shown on the Rate plans page for every utility and customer type, with the same prices; it is refreshed daily. Prices are quoted per therm, Ccf, or Mcf, so confirm the unit before comparing plans. Customers can only choose plans from their own utility, so compare plans within one utility, not across utilities.
